It January, and what projects have you begun???
I hate, really HATE being so busy!
I have missed blogging, missed talking on the phone to long distance friends and relatives, missed sitting in the quiet (when did that ever happen)
???
The Chirstmas season went by like a blur, like I was "watching" the movie I was in! LOL So now we're settling back into normal, starting projects which in the middle of...most of the family has come down sick! Faith (baby) has an ear infection, her first one.
Hannah has fever, headache, tummy ache and has layed down most of the day. Rach has sore throat, sinus stuff and just plain feels bad, and mommy doesn't know if she is exausted or is coming down with something and has slept and had no energy most of the day.
Pray for us to come out of this SOON!!!
Projects, Projects!!! The little girls closet again! i'm trying to thin out and match up outfits so it is not a crisis every morning to get dressed!
Especially for the 5 year old! I started that on Tues. but haven't had much strength or time to go work on it, but it does make me feel a little better to blog about it! LOL so I have to get back to it soon that way right?! Which brings me to the next QUESTION...How many outfits do you or your children have? If you do laundry everyday anyway...Does having more clothes make laundry any different? I would love to hear from you!!!!
School HAS to start back on MONDAY! IT IS TIME! Time for the schedule (I've started re-writing)to be put in place! School room is messy, but a good messy, because it means it is being used and not just for school! The little girls come in here alot to color and craft now that their stuff is easy to get to.
What Else? We did have a fun Christmas and New Years! We didn't go out of state, we stayed home and some of our family members came to us!
My niece and her parents came a few days after Christmas and we went and toured Pensecola Christian College. She is trying to decide where she will go next year. That was fun and interesting, I had always wanted to see it, and see where all that Abeka Curriculum came from that we have used for years!
The rest of our company "cousins" family of 5 came on the weekend of New Years! My home was bursting with excitement! Our 5 year old Hope is bossom buddies with her cousin Cora and they had a delightful time together! It was neat to see them play, Hope doesn't have a playmate her own age here. We all enjoyed a day of Beach, a day of Sea food and beach, and just being together.
Very thankful the weather was so nice for thier visit to Sunny Florida!
Sorry this isn't loaded with Pics this time, I'm so frustrated because I can't find my camera batery charger which is the camera I use to load my pics! Hopefully it will turn up soon! Have a wonderful weekend and i would love to hear from you!

Do we really need to go that mysterious land where my started projects live?
@herdaddysgirl - yes absolutely!
I wish I could wiggle my nose and make everything better for you! Ohhhhh, PROjects. Ugh and yay, depending on where I begin. First, we have to finish packing up the Christmas stuff and putting it out in our little storage building, which needs to be organized. Then, we need to unload the contents of the tv cabinet so I can repaint it and move it to a better spot. That job also means Hubby gets to crawl through under the house to move the tv cable wire. THEN, we'd like to revamp our little laundry room- remove the cabinets that an incompetent "builder" installed. He did nothing like what I wanted. I wanted simple, airy space with open shelves and a simple rod and a little section of laminate counter for folding clothes. But nooooo, he HAD to spend our precious money on cabinets and granite countertop (leftover from the kitchen) AND a sink, which we can't use because he botched the plumbing. I just need to remove all that along with his memory. ...and donate the cabinets and any salvaged countertop and the sink. I know, I seem petty, but I just need simplicity and space so that I can function and breathe! What else. Oh yes, speaking of laundry...my husband and kids have WAY more clothes than I do.. I wear pretty much the same 3 or 4 outfits and my stretchy workout pants. We do laundry pretty much every day, since we have a small house and need to prevent things from piling up. Again, I need space in order to breathe! I love cleaning and organizing; it makes me happier to have everything in its place. Happy New year to you!
Love your family picture! I don't know if it's any comfort but it doesn't seem to slow down when you get to be a grandma either!
Have a wonderful New Year. You have a lovely family.
Miriam is right, it doesn't slow down when you get to be a gramma. Well, maybe a little, but only because I can't move as fast as I used to.
I have a bunch of projects I want to do, but I haven't started any yet. Soon we need to go to our son's house in NC to make a loft bed for our granddaughter. We always plan a week there to do some project as my son is not a "handy" guy. Besides, hubby would never go on a vacation where he just had to sit around......so not him.
Laundry-wise:
There are ten of us all total. That's a lot of clothes no matter what you do.
Generally the younger ones (the ones that spend time in mud, and dirt, and spill food all over themselves) have enough clothing for seven days, plus for the girls two or three nice dresses/skirt-top ensembles, and for the boys one or two pairs of nice pants and several nice shirts for church. Older kids have 4-5 pairs of jeans, girls have everyday skirts/dresses, and enough shirts for a week. Two or three sets of pajamas and a weeks worth of underwear and socks for everyone, each kid has their towel and washrag, which they wash with their laundry, and they're supposed to hang to dry after they get out of the shower/bath so it's dry for the next time.
We do laundry all week long. Each kid has their day when they do their laundry, older siblings help "their" younger sibling (each of the four older siblings ended up with a younger one). With ten of us, and only 7 weekdays, we've doubled up - an older sibling and a younger sibling the first four days of the week, then momma washes hers and daddy's laundry on friday. Saturday is towels (though we typically wash towels during the week, too), Sunday we don't do laundry.
We go through clothing twice a year, spring and fall, to pass down what needs to be passed down, cull the holey stuff, and make sure they don't have too many clothes. Because if they have too many, it's a mess in the closet, they won't do laundry until they're out of clean clothes, and the washer is always full. Plus there's the whole thing about where to put it all when it's clean and folded.
That's just what's worked for us!
@herdaddysgirl - @Richgem - @oldfatgramma - Thanks for all your wonderful advice and for sharing what works for you, I had a long detailed reply on how I was going to do things, but somehow lost it and now don't have the energy to rewrite it! I will keep you posted, thanks for your help!!
