Possibly hunting in the morning, dinner with my grandparents, hunting in the evening, then Thanksgiving dinner with just the immediate family on Friday (accompanied by hunting in the morning and evening, of course). And leftovers and decorating for Christmas on Saturday and Sunday.
Dan's parents, 2 mentally handicapped guys they take care of and his uncle are coming tomorrow through Sunday morning.
Growing up, we never had Thanksgiving dinners with family. I remember Mom making a big meal for just our immediate family, but we as a family don't have Thanksgiving traditions. I am feeling a little pressure to "perform" a big meal since we are getting company who are used to that, but Dan says I should cook what I want to! We will probably have roast, sweet pot., mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry salad, pie and ice cream. Oh, and rolls! I DON'T know how to cook a good turkey!
We're having the bachelors tomorrow. It will be just us and them. If we lived closer to family, we'd be hanging around with all of them. We are pretty traditional with a BIG, NICE turkey dinner. The last four years we've done the smoked turkey and we think it's so tasty. I like to make everyone at the table say something they are thankful for for the year. It is also my tradition to have sparkling cider with dinner and ear all day long!!
@herdaddysgirl - you are cracking me up!! Hunting girl!!
@betheelou - I finally saw something and didn't get a shot at it! I. MUST. HUNT.
